Pismo 1929

An iconic image was created in June, 1929. Hundreds of motorcyclists converged on the sand for the Western Federation of Motorcyclists (W.F.M.) Rally in beautiful Pismo Beach, California. This image continues to spur the imagination of motorcyclists everywhere, as evidenced by the numerous vendors who continue to package and sell copies of it to this very day. It's time to recreate history.

The Pismo Beach Motorcycle Classic is being organized by the Pasadena Motorcycle Club and the San Francisco Motorcycle Club. The goal is to re-start the tradition of assembling hundreds of motorcyclists on the beach for a panoramic photo taken during the WFM Rallies of the 1920's (a similar photo exists from the 1924 rally).

Each club will be organizing a scenic and memorable ride for Sat. Sept. 18th. These rides will conclude at 1300 Railroad St., Oceano Beach CA for the Classic.

Sunday morning, Sept. 19th all Pismo Beach Motorcycle Classic participants will gather at the Pismo Beach Pier for the panoramic photo. This 2010 photo will be a part of history and inspire motorcyclists in the same way the 1929 image has.

Be part of that history.

how

Its EASY!!!

Join us in re-creating that classic photo in many ways. Whether your coming in from the North or the South, SFMC and PMC are planning rides that will make your journey to the Beach well worth it. When you pull in, rally with the rest of us and enjoy music, food and more with riders and clubs from all around the Nation. Everyone is welcome to attend.

We're planning to raffle off pins, shirts and more. The best part? Those of you who plan on participating in the photo will get your own high quality print and hopefully a chance to get an equally high quality copy of the original 1929 WFM Rally Panorama.

Visit our REGISTRATIONS page for information on how to register.
